He is former Executive Director, Global Financial Services for Bunge Limited, former Chief Financial Officer of Bunge North America, former Chief Financial Officer of Peabody Holding, and current Director of Renewable Energy Group.
We believe Mr. Scharf’s qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include his management experience with global companies, his financial expertise and his experience in the coal industry.

J. Joe Adorjan
J. Joe Adorjan is Chairman of Adven Capital, former Vice Chairman of Emerson Electric, former Chief Executive Officer of ESCO Electronics, former Chief Executive Officer of Borg-Warner Security, and current Chairman of Bates Sales Company.
We believe Mr. Adorjan’s qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include his experience as an executive leader of complex organizations and experience as a director of other companies.

Bobby R. Brown
Bobby R. Brown is former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CONSOL Energy, former Director of Peabody Energy, former Senior Vice President of Conoco, and current Director of Delta Trust & Bank and Remington Arms Company and its parent, Freedom Group.
We believe Mr. Brown’s qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include his experience in the coal industry, his executive leadership of complex organizations and his experience as a director of other companies.

Bennett K. Hatfield
Ben Hatfield is Patriot Coal's President and Chief Executive Officer.
Most recently, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Patriot Coal. Previously, Ben was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of International Coal Group, prior to the June 2011 sale of that company. He has held a number of other key executive operating and commercial positions during his 30-plus years in the coal industry, including President, Eastern Operations of Arch Coal, Inc., Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Massey Energy Company, and Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of Coastal Coal Company.
Ben is a board member of the West Virginia Coal Association and a past board member of the NMA.
Ben is a Licensed Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Michael P. Johnson is former Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at The Williams Companies, former Vice President of Human Resources for Amoco Corporation, and current Director of QuikTrip Corporation, Buffalo Wild Wings, and CenterPoint Energy.
We believe Mr. Johnson’s qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include his management experience in the energy industry and his experience with strategic development and human resource functions.

Janiece M. Longoria is a partner in the law firm of Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall L.L.P. She serves as a commissioner of the Port of Houston Authority and is a current Director of CenterPoint Energy.
We believe Ms. Longoria’s qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include her significant legal experience and background as well as her experience as a director of other companies.
